Arizona Spelling Bee – Final Day to Sign-up: Friday, October 24th
- Arizona Spelling Bee – Thursday, November 13th at 1:00pm in the MPR.

Attendance Grade Level Competition!
- This October we would like to focus on having each student at school every single day! Data has shown that students that are at school every day, get better grades and are far less likely to fall behind academically. This month, let’s strive to have Perfect Attendance! During October, the classes will compete to see which class has the best attendance; and the winning classes when will receive ice cream parties.
Short-Term Independent Study
- If you know in advance that your child will be absent for two or more days, please call our attendance office so we can place them on a Short Term Independent Studies contract.
- This Contract allows your child’s absences to be cleared so they do not count against their attendance. Your child would just need to complete any assignments they missed while they were absent.
Requirements to Attend: Movie Parties, Dances, or Fieldtrips:
- To attend a Movie Party, Dance, or Field Trip Students may not have any major discipline infractions & MUST have 2.0 (“C”) grade point average & No F’s. Tickets will be sold to all students, however if they do not meet the above requirements, they will be issued a refund.
Arizona Tutoring Opportunities:
- Before School Tutoring/Homework Assistance: Monday-Friday: 7:15am-7:45am (Report to Main Office)
- After School Tutoring (Starting 10/15): Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 3:15-4:15pm (Report to Main Office)

Red Ribbon Week: “Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free” Oct. 27th–Oct. 31st (Click Here to View Weekly Activities/Events)
Halloween Dance: Wednesday, Oct. 29th – 3:00pm-5:00pm (Arizona MPR)
- Tickets can be purchased during lunch or before school in the Main Quad.
- Dance Pick-Up Instructions: Please arrive No later than 5:00pm to pick-up your students.
- Students may not leave the dance early unless a parent comes to the main office with identification.
- All Costumes must follow school appropriateness guidelines. Costumes may not have fake blood, no full masks, no props, no fake weapons, and no inflatable costumes.

Practice PSAT (8th Grade Students Only)
Arizona Middle School is an AVID National Demonstration School and Site of Distinction School. AVID is a college readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. This year, students will be taking this Practice PSAT during the week of Oct. 27th during their history classes. The Practice PSAT takes 45 minutes to complete and will be completed during one History class period. **This Practice PSAT (Middle School Version) will not count towards your child’s grade, however it will give students an opportunity to view the types of questions they will see at the end of the year state testing.
Arizona PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports)
- Arizona Middle School is a State Recognized Platinum PBIS School (Highest Level) that is committed to creating an environment of success for all students. We want to promote- a positive, safe, and consistent environment for all students by explicitly teaching behavioral expectations, regularly recognizing positive behavior, and providing support.

Clubs Information:
- Clubs are Free, held after school, & offered multiple days
- On the Club Meeting Dates, students will check-in immediately after school, they will receive a snack, and then proceed to their club.
