- There is No School on Monday, Jan. 19th in Honor or Martin Luther King Jr.
Emergency Drill – Intruder On Campus Video and Drill – Friday, January 16th
- On Friday, January 16th the students, faculty, and staff at Arizona will watch an Intruder Response Preparedness Video and then conduct an Intruder Response Drill. The intent of the video and drill is to prepare the Arizona Community in the unlikely event an Intruder/active shooter comes on campus.
- This video and procedures were previously shown to All Students and Staff earlier in the school year, on August 15th.

Free Sports Physicals: Hillcrest High School – Saturday, Jan. 17th: 9am-12pm
- Hillcrest High School is hosting a Health, Resource, and Vendor Fair from 9am-12pm(Click Here for more info on the event).
Arizona Saturday Academy – Saturday, January 24th – 8:00am-12:00pm

- Bring your child's favorite lunch and come enjoy lunch with them! All Parents and Family are Welcome!
**Parents and Visitors MUST bring an I.D. to enter campus. **Plan to arrive 20 minutes before your child's lunch to check-in.

- Before School Tutoring/Homework Assistance: Monday-Friday: 7:15am-7:45am (Report to Main Office)
- After School Tutoring: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 3:15-4:15pm (Report to Main Office)

- Students MUST meet the requirements below to Attend the Above Events:
- Arizona Student Grade Level Expectations: Attain at least a 2.0 (“C”) Grade Point Average. (and)
- No Failing grades (“F” grade) in ELA, Math, Science, or History; and No more than one failing grade in Physical Education or Elective classes.
- No Major Discipline Infractions

Attendance Awareness Month:
- January is Attendance Awareness Month and we would like to focus on having each student at school every single day!
- Data has shown that students that are at school every day, get better grades and are far less likely to fall behind academically. These months, let’s strive to have Perfect Attendance!
- If you have an Absence that is unavoidable, please contact the office for a Short-Term Independent Study Contract (See information below).
Attendance: Short-Term Independent Study
- If you know in advance that your child will be absent for two or more days, please call our attendance office so we can place them on a Short Term Independent Studies contract.
- This Contract allows your child’s absences to be cleared so they do not count against their attendance. Your child would just need to complete any assignments they missed while they were absent.

- Arizona Middle School is a State Recognized PLATINUM PBIS School that is committed to creating an environment of success for all students.
