District Science Fair Winners & Arizona Science Fair Winners

  • Congratulations to the following Arizona Students that Won 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place at the District Science Fair!!
  • Vashti Rodriguez (8th Grade) for winning 1st Place at the Alvord District Science Fair.
  • Zachary Aguilar (7th Grade) for winning 2nd Place at the Alvord District Science Fair.
  • Jayden Thompson (8th Grade) for winning 3rd Place at the Alvord District Science Fair.
    • Vashti, Zachary, and Jayden will now be representing AUSD at the Riverside County Science Fair.

Perfect Attendance Competition - Movie Party

  • Students that have Perfect Attendance (No Absences from Any periods) from Wednesday, Feb. 11th through Wednesday, March 25th will get to attend the Grade Level Perfect Attendance Movie Party on March 27th.
  • Students with Perfect Attendance will be able to watch a Movie and get Ice Cream!
  • Only students with Perfect Attendance from 2/11-3/25 Can Attend (No Absences From Any Period)
  • Students must also have a 2.0 GPA with No F’s & No Discipline Infractions.

Riverside County Student Art Competition Winners

  • Congratulations to Arizona Students that were selected as the Winners in the RCOE Art Competition!

Arizona Saturday Academy – Saturday, March 7th – 8:00am-12:00pm

  • Registration Permission Slips are Due to the Main Office by Tuesday, March 3rd. 
  • By attending, your child can Make-Up any absences and receive PBIS Points.



Attendance: Short-Term Independent Study

  • If you know in advance that your child will be absent for two or more days, please call our attendance office so we can place them on a Short Term Independent Studies contract.
  • This Contract allows your child’s absences to be cleared so they do not count against their attendance. Your child would just need to complete any assignments they missed while they were absent.



4th Progress Report – February 13th is the Final Day of the 4th Grading Period.

  • Arizona Student Grade Level Expectations:
  • Attain at least a 2.0 (“C”) Grade Point Average.  (and)
  • No Failing grades (“F” grade) in ELA, Math, Science, or History; and No more than one failing grade in Physical Education or Elective classes.  (and)
  • No Major Discipline Infractions

*Each grade level (6th, 7th, & 8th) uses this standard as a requirement for participation in sports, clubs, and school activities, such as: dances, on-site activities (i.e. popsicle parties, perfect attendance movie incentives), End of Semester Field Trips, and our most important activity for 8th grade students: The End of Year Promotion Ceremony.


College & Career Day at Hillcrest High School: Saturday, March 14th: 8:00am – 5:00pm



Arizona Family Picnic! Friday, February 27th: During your Child’s Lunch

6th Grade Lunch:10:21am-10:56am; 7th Grade Lunch:11:22am-11:57am; 8th Grade Lunch: 12:23-12:58pm

  • Bring your child's favorite lunch and come enjoy lunch with them! All Parent and Family are Welcome!
  • **Parents and Visitors MUST bring an I.D. to enter campus. **Plan to arrive 20 minutes before your child's lunch to check-in.



Parent Conferences: Thursday, March 5th from 1:00pm-3:00pm OR 4:00pm-6:00pm

  • All Parents are invited and welcomed to attend the Parent Conferences on Thursday, March 5th from 1pm-3pm or 4pm-6pm.
  • Parents do not need to schedule an appointment, but instead may show up during the time-frame listed above to meet individually with all their child’s teachers to develop a plan to support your child so they are successful this school year.



Arizona Tutoring Opportunities:

  • Before School Tutoring/Homework Assistance: Monday-Friday: 7:15am-7:45am (Report to Main Office)
  • After School Tutoring: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 3:15-4:15pm (Report to Main Office)

Clubs Information:

On the Club Meeting Dates, students will check-in immediately after school, they will receive a snack, and then proceed to their club.
