School Information:

 

Parent Conferences: Thursday, October 9th from 1:00pm-3:00pm OR 4:00pm-6:00pm

• All Parents are invited and welcomed to attend the Parent Conferences on Thursday, October 9th from 1-3pm OR 4-6pm.
• Parents do not need to schedule an appointment, but instead may show up during the time-frame listed above to meet individually with all their child’s teachers to develop a plan to support your child so they are successful this school year.
• Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held in the: MPR for 7th & 8th Grade Students  &  Library for 6th Grade Students

• Thursday, October 9^th: Minimum Day: School Ends at 12:25pm
• Friday, October 10^th: Minimum Day: School Ends at 12:25pm
• Friday, October 17^th: No School – Teacher In-Service
• Friday, October 31^st: Minimum Day: School Ends at 12:25pm

 

 

Attendance Classroom Competition!

• This October we would like to focus on having each student at school every single day!  Data has shown that students that are at school every day, get better grades and are far less likely to fall behind academically.  This month, let’s strive to have Perfect Attendance!
• During October, the classes will compete to see which class has the best attendance; and the winning classes when will receive ice cream parties.

 

 

Short-Term Independent Study

• If you know in advance that your child will be absent for two or more days, please call our attendance office so we can place them on a Short Term Independent Studies contract.
• This Contract allows your child’s absences to be cleared so they do not count against their attendance.  Your child would just need to complete any assignments they missed while they were absent.

 

 

Arizona Saturday Academy – Saturday, October 25th  – 8:00am-12:00pm

• Registration Permission Slips are Due to the Main Office by Monday, Oct. 20th

• By attending your child can Make-Up one (1) absence or earn an absence credit to be used so that a future absence does not count against their attendance record. 

 

 

Arizona PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports)

• Arizona Middle School is a State Recognized Platinum PBIS School (Highest Level) that is committed to creating an environment of success for all students. We want to promote- a positive, safe, and consistent environment for all students by explicitly teaching behavioral expectations, regularly recognizing positive behavior, and providing support.

Progress Report: 1st Grading Period: Available in the Aeries Parent Portal

• Click Here to Access the Aeries Parent Portal and view the 1st Progress Report Grades.
• Teachers will be contacting parents of students with D’s or F’s to create a plan to assist students in raising their grades.
• If you have any questions about your child’s grades or if you would like to discuss ways that your child can raise their grade, please contact their teachers directly through email.

Requirements to Attend: Movie Parties, Dances, or Fieldtrips:

• To attend a Movie Party, Dance, or Field Trip Students may not have any major discipline infractions & MUST have  2.0 (“C”) grade point average & No F’s

• Tickets will be sold to all students, however if they do not meet the above requirements, they will be issued a refund.

• On the Club Meeting Dates, students will check-in immediately after school, they will receive a snack, and then proceed to their club.

• Before School Tutoring/Homework Assistance: Monday-Friday: 7:15am-7:45am (Report to Main Office)

• After School Tutoring (Starting 10/15): Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 3:15-4:15pm (Report to Main Office)
